Dr. Bonnie V. Beaver, DVM testified before the subcommittee hearing in the Energy and Commerce Commitee on July 25th, 2006. Dr. Beaver lied during her testimony when she said “the captive bolt is not a stun gun, it kills the horses.”
Dr. Beaver knows better, however, those she was testifying before did not. Dr. Beaver used her position as a veterinarian, educator at Texas A & M University, and past president of the American Veterinary Medical Association to support the pro-slaughter groups.

Thank goodness she is now PAST president of the AVMA!! I heard her testimony live on C-Span. Wanted to take a bat to the TV. 🙂

You entered it perfectly! Welcome to the world of blogging. I, of course, agree with you 100% about Dr. Beaver. Her story about her horse ‘Trigger’ was really weird considering she has sent her own horses to slaughter. I guess she missed the ethics class where they study the Veterinarian’s Oath…
